Scion of the House of Beasts

The secondborn son of Viscount Torben Evaine and his wife, Viscountess Morgause Evaine née Pendrael, Mordred was not expected to ever be in the position of heir.Among nobles, he's said to have been a sickly, ghostly child who would linger at the back corners of gatherings, galas, and soirees prior to the death of his much beloved older brother, Gawain. He was not considered a child with quick wit, nor a charming presence that was able to enchant a room.Upon his return to Ishgard after the Final Days, however, many things have begun to shift and change. As he has re-entered high society, he has proven to be quite charming, gentle, and he carries himself with purpose. Going to war changed him for the better, it seems.___As an Ishgardian Noble: You might have heard of Lord Gawain Evaine, the Bull Prince of Wildehaven, and his promising future as a knight and noble scion of House Evaine. High society just hasn't been the same in the years since his death. Mordred's promising, but he's quite the shadow in comparison, isn't he?As an Ishgardian Noble Associated with House Haillenarte: You would know that the Evaines originated from a branch of Haillenarte 700 years ago. They still remain steadfastly loyal, despite the amount of time that has passed. Young Lord Mordred Evaine seems no different. As an Ishgardian Lowborn: Who is this again? What is the point of keeping track of all these bloody nobles?

Currently a sophomore at Caelum Academy, there were rumors surrounding his admission, that the eldest living child of the Evaines was a fool and his father was sending him away as an embarrassment to favor his younger brother, Gaheris. However, those rumors have long since disappeared.Mordred is a well-trusted member of the student body, to the point that he has been elected a member of Student Council and served his sophomore term as its President. He treats all students as equal regardless of birth or origin and extends that same courtesy to faculty, with additional respect for their position. He's often referred to as a shining example of what it means to be a noble in Ishgard and has been referred to as the 'Prince of House Phoenix'.Students and faculty alike know that they can confide in Mordred and that he will not spill their secrets.___As an Ishgardian Noble: You may have heard that Lord Mordred Evaine is in attendance of some other noble house's Knight Academy. This may be an unusual situation since, as far as you know, none of the Houses of Caen are allied with House Evaine. Or are they?As a Caelum Student: If you have joined Caelum Academy, you may know Mordred as a classmate or even potentially a fellow House Phoenix member. You can always approach him about anything. He will make time.As a Caelum Faculty Member: Mordred has a good reputation among the staff. If he has a problem with your behavior or treatment of a student, he will always speak to you privately rather than act rashly in public places. If you have concerns with the student body, similarly, you can speak to him and he will give an honest, gentle answer or find out what you need to know to help you.

After the death of his elder brother, Gawain, at the Steps of Faith, Mordred was thrust into the position of heir to House Evaine. As the second son, he was unprepared for this role. Even moreso in the wake of the end of the Dragonsong War and the truth that it unleashed on Ishgard. At some point, he became the target of an unknown Ishgardian House. Hired assassins broke into his bedroom and nearly killed him. With his safety in Ishgard in jeopardy, he was sent to join the Eorzean Alliance to bring an end to the Garlean Empire. This was seen as the lesser of two evils since he was not strong enough to defend himself at home.Over the course of two and a half turns, Mordred fought and bled with the soldiers of Eorzea. His path brought him from Dalmasca, through Yanxia, Doma, and into the Steppe before he was sent to join the Ilsabard Contingent in Garlemald during the Final Days.____As an Ishgardian Noble: You might have heard rumors of the circumstances around the second son of Viscount Torben being sent to war. Maybe you have speculation on which House is at fault or you doubt the validity of the Viscount's official statement regarding his son's absence. As a War Veteran of Either Campaign: You might have seen a young boy on the battlefield. As an elezen, he did not hit his growth until he was long on his way home. Mordred now might be nearly unrecognizable compared to the whelp seen on the battlefield.
